Cancellation policy

Below is a summary of the apartment cancellation policy. Please note that the policy is subject to real-time changes, so please refer to the official website and the contract for the most up-to-date information.

1. More than 15 days before the check-in date

1.1 Voluntary cancellation

For any reason, 2 weeks of prepayment will be deducted, a A$550 handling fee will be charged, and the 4-week deposit will be refunded.

1.2 Involuntary cancellation

If the tenant fails to provide all the required documents (passport, ID card, visa, and CoE) more than 15 days before the check-in date, Belong reserves the right to cancel or postpone the reservation. If the tenant cooperates with the cancellation, a A$550 handling fee will be charged, and the 4-week deposit and 2 out of 4 weeks of prepayment will be refunded.

2. Between 14 days before the check-in date and the day before check-in (only applicable to NSW. Cancellations are not allowed during this period in VIC and NZ)

2.1 Voluntary cancellation

For any reason, the 4-week deposit will be deducted, a A$550 handling fee will be charged, and the 2-week prepayment will be refunded.

2.2 Involuntary cancellation

If the tenant still fails to provide all the required documents (passport, ID card, visa, and CoE) within 14 days before the check-in date, Belong reserves the right to forcibly cancel or postpone the reservation. 2 weeks of prepayment will be deducted, a A$550 handling fee will be charged, and the 4-week deposit will be refunded.

3. On the check-in date or after check-in

For any reason, please refer to the section on lease termination in the rental contract (in accordance with local laws and regulations).

NSW: The penalty will be calculated proportionally based on the length of the occupancy. Additionally, written notice of lease termination must be given 14 days in advance, starting from the date of signing the lease termination confirmation letter.

VIC: An advertising fee needs to be paid, and the rent must be paid until a new tenant is found.

NZ: The same as above.
